Dr Monique Beedles wins Women in Technology Award 2010
Teak Yew is proud to announce that Dr Monique Beedles is the winner of the Women in Technology Executive Award 2010.
The 13th Annual Women in Technology Awards recognised women who are excelling or have demonstrated leadership in their field. The Executive Award, sponsored by WiT, is awarded to a woman who is successful in a business or executive career and who has a demonstrated commitment to building a profile as a Board director.
Monique has successfully run her Strategy consulting practice, Teak Yew, for the past seven years, and works with some of Australia’s leading organisations as they think ahead to the future.
Monique took on her first board role over 10 years ago and has consistently developed her portfolio to include private companies, a statutory authority, a university board and not-for-profit organisations. Monique was recently appointed as Vice Chair of St Peters Lutheran College, which is Queensland’s largest independent school.
Monique acknowledges the important role of the awards saying, ‘The WiT awards process has been a great opportunity for self reflection and professional development. WiT has also put me in touch with wonderful women who are willing to share their experience as role models and mentors.
Other organisations who have given invaluable support include the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Women on Boards, the Australian Institute of Management, and of course the other directors with whom I work. I wish to thank everyone who continues to support me in my business and in my board roles.'

The panel were very impressed with Monique's achievements in her career, particularly over the last couple of years. Dr Beedles has a very strategic approach to building her own business while at the same time developing a potentially highly successful career as a non-Executive Director through active participation on a range of Boards. Monique is a great role model for women executives wishing to develop a thriving career in technology. Dr Beedles exemplifies both the aspirational and achievement dimensions of the WIT Executive Award and will be an excellent participant on the Board Readiness Course bringing a wide range of experience to benefit colleagues.
