Dr Monique Beedles

Dr Monique Beedles founded the specialised strategy consultancy, Teak Yew, in 2004. Teak Yew has a focus on Asset Management for large companies and government bodies including Mining, Rail, Ports and Utilities.

Monique holds a PhD in Corporate Strategy and as the winner of a QUT Alumni scholarship, participated in an Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School in 2012.

Dr Beedles is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has more than 18 years experience as a board director in commercial, government and not-for-profit organisations. Monique is a member of the AICD Faculty and facilitates their director education programs on Strategy and Risk.

Monique is passionate about the importance of raising the conversation about Asset Management to the board level and her latest book, Asset Management for Directors, has recently been published by AICD.

Monique is a Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) under the ISO 55000 suite of international standards for asset management. 

Monique has completed the Asset Management for Managers program through the University of Western Australia, and she is frequently called upon to present at conferences and industry events and to write articles for business and specialist publications.

Monique continues her active involvement in the Asset Management Council as a member of the AMC Board and Chair of the AMPEAK International Asset Management Conference.

Monique has a special interest in mentoring young women for leadership, executive and board roles, particularly in traditionally male dominated fields. Monique is a mentor for:

  • QUT Executive MBA program,
  • QUT Alumni Fostering Executive Women Program,
  • Women on Boards
  • Women in Technology Board Readiness program.

Monique was the winner of the Women in Technology Executive Award in 2010.

Supporting women in leadership

We are proud to be a 100% female owned company.

We support other women-led companies through our membership of Femeconomy, a community of brands that are at least 50% female owned, or have more than 30% women on their boards. 

We support women in leadership through mentoring and grants to organisations that provide education and development opportunities for women.

carbon neutral

We keep a low carbon footprint through proactive procurement practices and aim to continually improve our impact on the environment. 

We offset 100% of our unavoidable carbon emissions through the Carbon Neutral Charitable Fund. CNCF plants native Australian trees to improve biodiversity in regional areas of Australia. 

In the 2016-17 Financial Year, Teak Yew offset 12 tonnes of CO2. 


promoting education & development

At Teak Yew, our giving of our time and resources aims to promote education and development in underserved communities. 

We support initiatives that improve literacy and provide educational opportunities for those who may otherwise miss out.

We also support research that improves educational outcomes or contributes to reducing potential barriers to educational achievement. 

We recognise that not everyone fits in the same box or follows the same path. Therefore, we support initiatives that help to develop entrepreneurship skills, especially in underserved populations.
